Elio Darras

Full-Stack & Mobile Developer · Paris

I build whole products, from the first spec to the App Store.

I've been a developer for seven years. First as an apprentice on large web platforms, then freelance and on my own apps, which I take all the way to release. I hold three French RNCP qualifications, including DevOps Engineer, a level 7 title equivalent to a master's degree.

  • React · React Native · Flutter · NestJS
  • 7 years of experience
  • DevOps Engineer, master's level

Another way in

You can also see these projects on their own devices, in a 3D studio.

Projects

Everything else on this site fits inside simulated screens. Not this page. Bouldering, baseball, a golf driving range. I repeat a movement until it works, and when it doesn't, I do it again. It's more or less the same way I work, without a keyboard.

  1. 01

    Frame

I start by writing a spec. What the problem is, who it's for, how they'll use it, and what I'm leaving out for now.

  2. 02

    Draw

I draw before I code. Architecture, sequences, data model, state machines. HoneyGiRead is up to twenty-three diagrams.

  3. 03

    Mock up

Then wireframes, then mockups, so I can see the screens and the flows before building them.

  4. 04

    Document

The docs grow with the product, with dated architecture decisions. PitStop has twenty-six pages and six of them.

  5. 05

    Build in stages

Strict TypeScript, tests, continuous integration, and gradual releases. HoneyGiRead launched in New Zealand before France.

Four of those diagrams are on the HoneyGiRead page.

03

Notes

Short pieces on technical choices, written after the fact.
